- Welcoming and young culture, the company only promotes from within
- Genuine and present leadership
- High growth, challenging work, and helpful mentorship
- Great benefits
What I wish was different
6 of the 10 weeks of the internship was onboarding and project based work This left less than half the internship to directly contribute on project work.
Advice
Understand that when you break it down, this job is sales based recruiting. Though I found the work interesting and challenging, I personally found it quite repetitive and rarely had insight into the impact of my efforts. Enjoyed everyone I worked with, the culture is great for a first job out of college but it wasn't for me.

Client Services Associate
June - August 2023 • San Francisco, CA
What I liked
Flexible work environment, fast-paced, self-directed, fantastic manager, solid work culture, lots of fun people, directly revenue generating work, fun social events
What I wish was different
High variance, somewhat stressful, metrics-based, longer hours, no bonus for interns, no housing stipend, limited food stipend, lots of screen time
Advice
Be willing to separate home life and work life- enjoy your evenings, weekends, and don't worry too much about work when you're at home, even if you feel like there's a little more you can do. Learn prioritization of tasks and activities in the beginning, and understand that not everything will be done perfectly. Make friends with both interns and full time employees!

What I liked
I loved the internship and am returning next fall full time. AlphaSights is a great place to work and start your career. They genuinely invest a lot in their people and care about your professional trajectory, and career path - this is evident through frequent professional development workshops, AlphaSights Alumni Panels, and the career acceleration within the company. The work is very team oriented and the energy and culture of the company is very young and fun. This internship gave me a great introduction to the business world as a psychology major and allowed me to have a lot autonomy in my work!!

Advice
If you are wanting to get an introduction to the business world when coming from a liberal arts major - look into AlphaSights!!

What I liked
Welcoming environment that teaches you most all you need to about business acumen. I liked that I was actually contributing to the firm as opposed to what I heard other interns at other companies did!
When you hear the cliche "fast-paced" environment, AlphaSights fits that bill.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had known more about the expert network/information services industry as a whole.
Advice
Be yourself as much as you can - but, make sure to put yourself out there. AlphaSights values employees with high social and technical skills. Make sure to be outgoing because it will help you with problem-solving and working within your team!

What I liked
The best working experience I've ever had. The company has the most amazing, engaging people and they really care about your success. You are heavily invested in, and you get to do the work of a full-time Associate. The internship has great benefits, a lot of training and professional development, and the job itself is amazing for building professionalism and knowledge base
What I wish was different
I wish I had been exposed to more segments of the company.
Advice
Show up ready to put your best foot forward. If you are not fully committed, you will not be successful here. You get out of it what you put into it.

Summer Associate - Client Services
June - August 2022 • New York City, NY
What I liked
The 10 week internship was great! Being able to hit the desk and join one of the client service teams was definitely the highlight of the program. I really appreciated how we were given full responsibility to work on projects and deliver experts to our clients just as full-time associates do. Also, the office culture is fantastic and everybody is super talkative and nice.
What I wish was different
The end of the program was a bit slower as we got sent back into the WeWork for our final projects. It was great being able to work on a team with people that I hadn't gotten to know prior, but there was a lot of time where I felt like we weren't doing too much once we finished the project. I also felt like the onboarding at the beginning was a bit long, but maybe if the time was used a little differently it would be more useful.
Advice
Come in with a positive attitude and focus on organization and time management while working on projects.

June - August 2022 • New York City, NY
What I liked
Unlike what I've heard from my friend's internships, I feel like I was given a lot of responsibility and able to do actual work over the summer. Instead of just sitting around and having something to write on my resume, I was doing the work of full time associates and developed professional skills extensively. I was in constant contact with my manager and tasked with solving real problems and talking to real clients.
What I wish was different
Advice
If you're the type of person that wants to actually grow professionally in a very comfortable and fun environment, you should definitely apply for this internship. The management here is excellent at training you early on so the rest of the summer you're actually doing real, exciting work.

What I liked
My summer internship experience at AlphaSights was nothing short of amazing. The people that I worked with were great mentors, gave great feedback, and the overall culture was positive! Aside from the great culture and people, the business model was extremely interesting to me and I found my day-to-day responsibilities to be challenging and rewarding. I can say that due to the structure of the program, I was definitely able to learn a lot and not feel overwhelmed as a summer intern.
What I wish was different
There isn't really anything that I wish could have been different, except for maybe having a rotational program to work under different business units and on new teams. However, I loved the team that I was placed on and believe that many other interns would say the same!
Advice
Two pieces of advice I would share include being open-minded and giving it all your effort! First, I believe that if you are open-minded going into your role, you would be able to get so much more out of it then you originally thought. Second, I believe that the more effort you put into this experience, the more you will get out of it.

June - August 2021 • New York City, NY
What I liked
The office atmosphere definitely resembled a work hard, play hard mentality. I liked that my professional skills were challenged and I was given the same responsibilities as a full time associate. At the same time, most of my coworkers were within a reasonable age range as me and were very kind, social, and helpful people. They were helpful in me adjusting to my first professional role in a city I've never been to before.
What I wish was different
I wish I was more on top of everything including my time management and organizational skills. This is a huge aspect of the role and the learning curve is steep for those who have this opportunity.
Advice
I would say take advantage of the opportunity. There aren't many roles where people my age can enter the workforce and be exposed to so many industries all at once. It's a great learning experience and really does a good job of laying the foundation for many of the skills that are useful in any professional role.

Summer Associate -- Client Service Team
June - August 2019 • New York City, NY
What I liked
The overall experience working for AlphaSights was fantastic -- they provided resume building workshops, hosted team and office events, and allowed their summer associates to experience different segments throughout the team. The 10-week program was well organized, rigorous, while still making sure we were enjoying the experience.
What I wish was different
I wish associates had been able to choose the teams they were going to be working with.
Advice
Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and challenge yourself on the desk!

Summer Associate
June - August 2019 • New York City, NY
What I liked
I had a really fun summer! The culture there is very young, so they plan a lot of fun monthly events with your team. in the office. The work is really easy to pick up and you do exactly what an entry level associate does. After about 4 weeks you become pretty comfortable with the job and they give you a lot of ownership/responsibility over the process of sourcing experts.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been more technical skills with the job. It would have been great to also be working on ways to improve the business. They had a short week long project for the interns where you worked on a business problem, but it would have been great to focus on that more throughout the internship.
Advice
If you are looking to build your soft skills this is a great job. The majority of the position is chatting with experts and reaching out to people. You get a ton of exposure to different industries and its a crash course in business.

What I liked
I loved the people and the environment, and the high-pace job. I also appreciated the high responsibility that was given to us right away.
What I wish was different
I think their second rotation should have been longer to help us integrate more into the second team.
Advice
I would recommend people be ready for a high stress environment, as it is very busy and engaging from day one.

May - August 2019 • New York City, NY
What I liked
The company atmosphere was awesome. They are a very feedback oriented company and therefore, I was able to learn and grow a ton throughout my experience. Additionally, as interns, we were all integrated into the firm as if we were full time employees which gave us a true and transparent experience looking into the company. There were also almost 100 summer interns, making it an extremely great experience.
What I wish was different
Given that I was centralized within one segment under the company, I would have appreciated having a shadowing week in which we could have experienced more of a day in the life of a full-time employee in each segment. We did do a 2-week rotation, but a shadowing day could have been great as well.
Advice
Take the leap and try something new! I am so thankful I got the experience of working at a smaller, growing company to understand that was what I wanted after graduation. If you are looking for a fast-paced, dynamic environment in which you are never bored, AlphaSights is the place for you.

Client Services Associate
June - August 2018 • New York City, NY
What I liked
I liked the autonomy given on the job, and the way that we were able to do the exact job that a full time associate performed. Additionally, getting experience interacting with people across industries was invaluable.
What I wish was different
I felt like the job got monotonous and administrative at times, and felt that I learned everything possible by the end of the internship. I wish we could have had more strategic roles.
Advice
Definitely be proactive and learn as much as possible about the consulting space (who are the primary clients of AlphaSights) along with other industries to guide where you want your career trajectory to go!

What I liked
The Summer Associate position is unlike any other internship I've ever had; you have complete responsibility and accountability for your work and are treated as a full-time associate. I gained essential skills in communication, critical thinking, project management, emotional intelligence, and many others throughout my summer experience. I would highly recommend applying!
What I wish was different
AlphaSights is a very fast-growing company, so sometimes it felt like things were changing very quickly. I don't believe this is a bad thing, but it's always a challenge to effectively communicate changes to a large organization.
Advice
Individuals who are successful at AlphaSights are intrinsically motivated, driven, excited by challenge, hardworking, and adaptive. Be ready to be both independent and part of a team, and create success on your own!
