Job Purpose: We are seeking a motivated, organized, creative, and detailed oriented graduate assistant to help support the Student Health and Well-being (SHAW) subdivision within the office of Student Affairs. Your contributions will play a key role in promoting health and well-being programs and initiatives and assessing the effectiveness and impact of these programs. Help make a positive impact on student well-being by contributing to the promotion and continuous improvement of our programs.
Job Description:
Towson University is currently accepting applications for a social media and program assessment Graduate Assistant
Social Media Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation: Develop and curate engaging, visually appealing, and informative content related to student health, wellness, and well-being (e.g., mental health, fitness, nutrition, stress management, alcohol, tobacco & other drugs).
Social Media Management: Help manage and update social media platforms (e.g., Instagram) by posting regular content that aligns with the subdivision’s goals and values.
Engagement Strategies: Assist in developing creative and innovative strategies to increase social media engagement and reach within the student community.
Content Accuracy & Accessibility: Ensure that all content is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to all students, including those with disabilities (e.g., by using appropriate alt text, captions, and clear language).
Student-Centered Approach: Contribute to content that is specifically tailored to the needs, interests, and concerns of students, ensuring it resonates with the student body.
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the Health and Well-being team to brainstorm new ideas, stay informed on current health trends, and ensure content aligns with university initiatives.
Monitoring & Reporting: Track and analyze social media performance metrics and suggest improvements for future content and strategies.
Well-being Program Assessment Key Responsibilities:
With support from the Health Promotion team, student will be provided with guidance to:
Assist in the collection of assessment data related to well-being programs, including surveys, feedback forms, and other evaluation tools.
Organize and maintain data in Excel spreadsheets or other databases
Analyze assessment data and identify trends, patterns, and key insights that reflect the effectiveness of well-being programs.
Work closely with the well-being team to understand program goals and align data collection efforts with overall objectives.
Help prepare summaries and visual presentations of assessment data to be shared with key stakeholders (e.g., well-being team, campus leadership).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and enrolled in a Towson University Master’s Program.
Preferred Experience
Experience using social media platforms (Canva and Adobe), familiarity with college well-being concerns including, mental health, neurodiversity, alcohol, tobacco and drug prevention, sexual violence prevention or sexual health, experience using Excel and basic coding skills.

Notes
20 hours of work per week required. Annual stipend of 12,000 and a tuition waiver for up to 12 credit hours per semester.
