Forensic Social Worker 1

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will provide a full range of social services to forensic clients who have a mental illness and have been placed through the criminal justice or correctional system for diagnosis, evaluation, and intensive treatment. In addition to your clients and their families, you will work with community providers, public defenders, judges, and other support systems to obtain information about your clients' psychosocial strengths, weaknesses, and social service needs to provide the most effective counseling and case management  You will also serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and provide input into client progress and the development of their treatment goals.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
 

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel as needed. This may change based on operational need.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's or master’s degree in social work or social welfare.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
