General Job Description:

This is specialized medical work examining and treating patients in a municipal health clinic or municipal medical evaluation unit for the Occupational Health specialty only. The employee has a controlling responsibility over the activities of a specialized clinic of a health center for positions in the Health Department. Responsibility for securing and maintaining the patient’s cooperation is a significant aspect of the work.

EDUCATION
Graduation from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy and completion of an internship in an approved hospital.

FAMILY MEDICINE SPECIALTY

Completion of all current formal requirements necessary to be accepted for the initial examinations for certification by the appropriate American Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Board for the area of specialization.

NOTE: Possession of a valid unrestricted license to practice medicine or osteopathy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania issued by the appropriate state board prior to and during tenure of appointment as a Physician.
