Multimedia Sports Communication & Marketing Intern
At CCBC, our goal is to develop well-rounded student athletes - students who can compete successfully both in the classroom and in their athletic endeavors. Community College of Baltimore County Athletics seeks a highly motivated individual(s) for a non-paid Multimedia Sports Communication & Marketing Internship. The successful candidate(s) will aid the Athletic Operations Assistant with communications, production of video content (features, highlights, etc.), coordinate web streaming for live events, and create and place marketing ads relating to general fundraising. This position(s) will be located at CCBC's Catonsville, Essex, or Dundalk campuses and include men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, men's lacrosse, men's and women's outdoor track and field, baseball, and softball.
The Multimedia Sports Communication & Marketing Intern will learn and assist with the following responsibilities:
- Create features, game highlight, and promotional videos for websites and social media
- Act as liaison and coordinate interviews
- Act as point of contact with video production team
- Create advertising for CCBC Athletic fundraisers and assist with placement
- Other duties as assigned.
We believe that an internship is first and foremost a learning experience; therefore, CCBC Athletics focuses on the development and progression of its interns. The successful candidate(s) will work under the supervision of the Athletic Operations Assistant. The successful candidate(s) will communicate goals and objectives, and discuss the progress and possible areas in need of improvement to aid the intern in reaching his/her professional goals, inside and outside the classroom. Areas and topics that will be taught and/or reviewed include how to use Presto Sports website platform, recognizing newsworthy highlights, procedures and instructions for working with CCBC Athletics film partners, and general communication and marketing skills.
Weekly hours will vary, but generally will be about 15-20 hours per week however, additional hours are available should the student or university require it. This internship is unpaid, but eligible for academic or course credit if approved by your educational institution. clerical responsibilities will represent less than 10 percent of the successful candidate(s) work hours. Qualifications:
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends;
- Experience in communications, marketing, or video production preferred;
- Excellent writing ability;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills is a must;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office;
- Minimum novice experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, or similar editing software is a must;
- Must be familiar with Adobe Cloud Suite
