National- Warrant Officer – Air Vehicle Pilot (Unmanned Aerial Systems Operator)
The U.S. Navy is seeking highly motivated individuals to serve as Warrant Officer Air Vehicle Pilots (AVP), operating advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in support of naval missions across the globe. This is a commissioned Warrant Officer role designed for individuals with a technical mindset, leadership potential, and a desire to serve their country through cutting-edge aviation technology.
As a AVP, you will operate unmanned aircraft in a variety of mission sets including reconnaissance, surveillance, and support of naval operations. You will be trained to become a subject matter expert in UAS platforms, working closely with intelligence, cyber, and aviation professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and manage advanced U.S. Navy unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
Conduct surveillance, reconnaissance, and operational support missions.
Train in flight planning, aircraft systems, and mission execution.
Maintain security protocols related to classified flight operations.
Collaborate with aviation, cyber, and warfare teams in joint operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen
18–32 years old at time of commissioning (waivers for age may be considered).
Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution (college and high school transcripts required).
Must score 96+ on the Selection of UAS Personnel Battery (SUASPB)
Physically qualified and aeronautically adapted (aviation medical exam required)
Additional Requirements:
Fewer than 12 years of total military service at time of commissioning (for prior/current enlisted applicants).
Must submit a personal statement explaining motivation.
At least 2 letters of recommendation addressing technical acumen and success potential.
Training Pipeline:
Attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, RI (enlisted E-4 and below advance to E-5 upon reporting).
Complete specialized UAS flight training as assigned by Chief of Naval Air Training.
